California FAFSA for Grants?

I’ve spent the past few hours researching Cal Grants.
I’m currently a freshman at a private university in Southern California.
My high school GPA (3.0 or higher) qualified be for the Cal Grant A, which awards $ 9708 per year.
I received $ 9708 from Cal Grant A for the 2011-2012 school year.
Unfortunately, I earned a 2.4 GPA my first semester of college (freshman year)… so does this mean I won’t be receiving a Cal Grant A and instead a Cal Grant B?
However, I heard after your freshman year, if you qualify for Cal Grant B ($ 1551 per year), you will get the same amount from Cal Grant A if it is after your freshman year.
What does this all mean? I am so confused and stressed!
Please help me because I am stressing out about how I am going to make up for $ 8157 worth of financial aid!

Cal grant b is actually better. It’s pays the same amount as cal grant a and it gives you an additional $ 1551 for supplies

YES – you are ineligible because you must maintain a 3.0 gpa.
